For the plaster man we started off by bending metal so we had a perfect man like shape. The proportion is suppose to be about one quarter of how tall and how big certain features of your body were. The scale was every inch you measures on you was 1/4th of the actual size on your body.

This project was simply cutting out plaster and putting it in the mask. After there was enough layers in the mask I put it out to dry. The next day I took the mask out of the plastic example mask and started my design. My design wasn't that original, I kinda just wanted a cool design and color scheme on my face.
My favorite part of the project was carving our first designs and just learning the whole process. Learning how to do this whole process was probably my favorite part of this project. My least favorite part was probably the long extensive cleaning we had to do everyday, but it had to get done. My inspiration for my first print which was an F came from my middle name which was fox. The second design I made came from my love of 3D shapes. So I did a 3D square. If I could redo anything in this project I would use less ink when braying my print. Mainly because some of my designs were so over saturated with ink and you couldn't really see some of the carvings.
We started of with just a bundle of clay on our table a couple of week's ago. The texture of the clay was very wet and elastic. We made a pinch pot, a slab bowl or tray and a coil pot with the clay. I started of making a bowl by rolling a slab. I put plastic on it then I put in on the drying shelf. The next day it was leather hard and then bone dry and after leaving it to dry for a couple of days, and was also now became greenware, so I knew it was now ready to be fired in the kiln. The clay was transforming in the kiln to a bisque. After it was bisque I was able to glaze my bowl - it was fired in the kiln again and my final product was a nice pretty red bowl.
